Everyone needs to read Peter Attia’s book that came out last year called Outlive. He’s a cardiologist that now does research and longevity. Hes been on Huberman many times.
It’s the best book I’ve read in a long time, and he dumbs it down for us laymans. He goes through all these test with the numbers mean and what you can do about it. Outlive on Amazon
When I turned 40 I went to a cardiologist and my score was 1300.
I ran marathons, ate very well, worked out six days a week and had around 11% body fat
I have a bad family history with heart disease. he had to go and do a heart cath because it was so high and the good news was I just have a lot of calcium and plaque but it is all spread out evenly through the arteries and no blockage anywhere
It was very eye-opening, and he said you cannot outrun genetics. My lipids were great and triglycerides were 45.
So I’m holding off on a statin for now

I was coming here to post this. Dr. Peter Attia’s book is great. Chapter 7 in particular for cardiovascular disease: the different components of your lipid profile, drivers of heart disease and drugs available to address the disease.
