I’m afraid of dying, but I’m way more afraid of someone I love dying. That keeps me up at night way more.

Yes. A long illness removed most of the fear. I've already dealt with most of the emotions and thoughts.

Most people don't die suddenly, they painfully degrade and wither away. I can probably take the pain and cope with the physical degradation but losing my mind and memory are terrifying to me. It's like you fade away from being a person. My family is a mixed bag on that front. I had relatives who lived into their 90s and their minds were sharp as tacks. And I have some that got hit hard with dementia and Alzheimer's. I just hope I'm in the former group and not a burden on anyone.

Too soon for me.
I don’t see anything to fear in being dead. It’s life that’s not for the weak.

Of course, it is unavoidable.
Once age of reason is reached we should be considering the Last 4 Things:
-Death
-Judgement
-Heaven
-Hell
Plenty of good youtube regarding the Last 4 Things.

We’re all going down, bitch.

How does one remember any of life’s experiences without the brain?
How are you still you without your brain?
Are your memories and personality saved to your soul like data is backed up to the Cloud?
Not being an arse. Genuinely curious

We are basically living in a holographic construct. A very persistent quantum illusion. Everything material is 99.9999% empty space. You are just patched into your physical body/avatar via the central nervous system which is a filter that allows you to only experience about 5% of the electromagnetic spectrum. Pure consciousness/spirit is what you are in essence and at death you just drop the avatar like a worn out suit. What we call death is just a natural process not to be feared.

Yep, mid 50’s. Have had a very nice run so far. Lucky being born to good people and in a prosperous country. Have 2 great kids, a great wife, have an awesome career that’s coming to an end soon and set for retirement. Seen my sports teams win a Natty, Super Bowl, and World Series. I enjoy waking up, working out, and the company I keep. As someone else mentioned as you get over the top of the bell curve you become less afraid of death. I’m not worried in the least because I’ve seen incredible people die in all forms and fashion so I know it’s nothing to worry about.

Death shows up at the party, invited or not

I’m ok with dying suddenly. I wouldn’t like to suffer a long time though. Like if I had sleep apnea, I don’t think I would treat it. Who doesn’t want to die in their sleep?

It bothers the hell out of me. I believe I will be gone after death, and that makes me horrifically worried about non-existence.
I want to exist. I enjoy who I am and experiencing life. There’s still so much I want to do, master, feel, love. Another 30-40 years isn’t enough.
I know that when I’m gone, I won’t have emotions to make me feel bad about it. But that’s what bothers me now. I won’t exist. What the frick.

Read Ecclesiastes and then read it 3 more times. You can only enjoy life after you’ve accepted death will come at any moment—your life is a vapor that lasts but an instant.

I was minutes away from death a little over a year ago. Never thought I would live this long anyway. I'll treat whatever remaining years I have left as bonus time.
