This is false. The strategy was based on analytics and LSU’s high-powered offense, not wanting to risk giving away the ball.

And lots of schools don’t have a dedicated ST coach, including Alabama. It’s extremely common.

Lol, LSU and Bama have the worst kicker rooms in the SEC by far for 2024. Not that it is an issue…and not that it matters.

Nah. Your thesis holds no water. You don't start the season against the 8th-ranked team in the nation with a redshirt freshman returning punts unless you're hoping for explosive returns. After Anderson muffed that punt against FSU, and in light of the atrocious return game in 2022, I firmly believe Kelly, knowing he again had no dedicated ST coach to improve things, said frick it and decided to just play it safe and fair catch the rest of the season. Had nothing to do with general analytics. Analyzing LSU's specific lousy return stats, maybe.
