I think you’re full of shite or been reading too many self improvement books. Your responses are pretty generic and not well thought out. It’s usually involves some “man up, stop complaining ” or “don’t do it if you don’t like it” shaming tactic.

People in here putting out theirs problems on the table so others can relate and maybe find a reasonable solution. It’s not complaining. And you’re response is “move to a different state”. Yeah, just uproot, and goodbye to their lives that they’ve been building who knows for how long, get a new 7% mortgage. That’s not even talking about getting new jobs, moving expenses, new schools for kids.

Insurance is the biggest squeeze for me lately. It sucks paying more and more for something you can’t see. Food is the second biggest.

I'm all for stopping federal tax dollars to Ukraine.

But what in the hell does that have to do with property taxes and insurance companies? Not a damn thing unless you think the fedgov should be subsidizing your property taxes and homeowners premiums.

Well there is a direct correlation to printing dollars we don't have and sending them overseas to the value of your dollar. Stopping the spending may not drive down property taxes or homeowners premiums in terms of dollars, but it will improve your buying power across all goods and services.

I was dumbfounded at the quote I got last week. I want to take it but I feel like if I actually need to make a hurricane claim there’s no way that insurer will still exist lol

Yeah ole boy from Ok has it all figured out. Going to tell the wife, kids and my boss that its getting to expensive here in Fl we packing it up and moving to the midwest . Beverly hillbillies comes to mind only going from civilization to the wide open spaces. If it was just me id be on the first train out. My biggest point to this post was how much has changed in the last 5 years on everything price wise. I have never seen this in my lifetime and i have been around a while. Where does this stop if it has gotten this bad in only a few short years? Where will we be in the next five years? Pretty scary.

I don't think there's such a thing as a perfect location. There are tradeoffs for every place. When I lived 1/3 mile from the beach in SoCal, there were some good things about it and some bad things. Same as Oklahoma and the other 7 states I've lived in.

Some of those things become so irritating that it precipitates a move. Sometimes it doesn't. Your life and your choices.

I just get tired of the bitching about it. It's one of the downsides for living on or near the Gulf Coast. shite happens. Deal with it or cry about it.

I can understand a little bitching.

But in this thread you have people advocating for the federal government to step in. frick all that. I'm not paying a single cent to insurance companies to help mitigate their exposure for the people that live in an area that can get hit by hurricanes or tropical storms.

I'll self insure if my insurance goes up because of federal intervention to help out people that choose to reside in a higher risk region.

Yeah, that guy's a dumbass. Been reading through the thread and he comes off as completely out of touch, or is getting the gubment handout he doesn't want to end. My General Liability, Umbrella, Commercial Auto, Group Health for my employees, Private Health for my family, Private Auto, and Homeowner's insurance have all gone up SUBSTANTIALLY over the past 3 years. About triple, all totaled. I pay an ungodly amount for insurance on a monthly basis. I live in north Texas, west of DFW. frick that guy and his dumbass takes.

As far as taxes go... I'm a business owner(electrical contractor) and a 22+ year FF/EMT. My wife is a school teacher. I pay federal income tax, payroll tax, commercial property tax, franchise tax, you name it. The IRS just decided to send us a letter saying somehow, for 2 years in a row, we magically didn't pay our taxes in 2019 and 2020. Wow, imagine that. Having confirmation letters of receipt and everything. Those 87k new agents really putting in solid work. I talked to a tax attorney who told me it would be cheaper to just pay what they're asking than to fight it. What a crock of shite.

checking in. My mortgage just went up $300 a month due to Homeowners more than doubling. Throw in some Joe Biden inflation let's just say I am starting to feel the squeeze. OH and tax season is right around the corner let's see how much I owe this season. Love being a middle class American NOT

Seriously. See my previous post in the thread. I had a serious case of bronchitis a couple months ago and had to spend some time in the hospital. I have been paying for insurance for YEEEEEEAAAAAAAARRRRS with nothing like that ever happening. My portion of the bill was still almost $12k. WTF? So, I pay hundreds of dollars a month, for years on end, and still owe over ten grand? I'm supposed to think "Well, its a good thing I had insurance!" GTFO If I'm paying out that much money in the hopes that IF something happened, I'd be covered, my bill should be a motherfrickin ZERO dollars owed.
