Can the saints realistically trade AK and Lattimore this offseason?

I know the Lattimore move opens the door for him, but it would be nice if we could get rid of AK also.

Lattimore
- Post June 1 trade saves 1.2mil (13.4mil dead), also leaving us on the hook for 31.7mil in dead money for 2025
- Pre-June 1 isn't an option

Kamara
- Pre June 1 saves us 1.6mil (17.2mil dead); however opens up 29mil for 2025
- Post June 1 saves us 11.8mil (7mil dead); saves us 18.9mil in 2025 but leaves us with 10mil dead

So in short: yes you can, but it doesn't come of much financial gain.

If you can get decent picks though, it still might make sense to have rookie contracts, right?

The team doesn't get better by getting rid of either.

Let’s get rid of two really good players and a team leader in AK to let Mickey draft football players.

I think it is a point. The cap is gonna be a mess either way, but my moving these 2 instead of restructuring, couldn't you start the process of cleaning the cap up and also get draft capital?

This! At some point you have to stop extending/re-structuring these older players. Even if you don’t get a lot of financial gain…..you start getting younger.

Although losing AK would hurt (been a much better leader this year). I love Latt, but he’s never on the field consistently anyway
