Does Kelly swing for the fences with Grub while keeping Sloan in his back pocket?

Kelly will swing for the fences and try to hire once of the best OCs in the country. I don't know if it will be Grub, who has been out West his entire coaching life.

Grub has never done anything separate from Deboer, who was an OC and is heavily involved in the offense. He's also only coached out west. He'd be an expensive gamble for LSU.

This is Kelley’s offense. He’s comfortable with Sloan calling plays and both him and Hankton collaborating on game planning. He will have his input on the Game plan as well. I’m totally fine with it.

I agree they would be good, but why would Kelly wait if that was his first choice.?

I disagree. Saban wanted him last year but he turned them down. That’s as good of a recommendation you can get

I keep seeing this posted, including twice in this thread. It’s completely false. He’s from Iowa and spent his playing and coaching career in the Midwest until following Deboer to Fresno St about 5 years ago.

Midwest? West? Dude, I'm from south Louisiana. It's all the same as far as my dumb arse is concerned and may as well be Canada. The point is he's got no experience in anything approaching the south, not to mention the SEC.

Yes
You don’t keep a La Tech level OC because one 17yo recruit supposedly likes him
