For starters we currently have a roster with too many players.

Second, there is an opinion that he was an underperformer on a bad defense at USC.

Third, LSU will not get into bidding wars for suspect players.

Coaching. They are better at both NIL and coaching on defense

Bama is taking a big gamble on Jackson because he has not played well in college based on his high school ranking. Maybe Saban can get it out of him because they are stacked in the secondary. We don't have the luxury of taking chances on portal DB's anymore. We need almost a sure thing.

Did we not just see that just because a guy is a 5 star out of high school, it doesn't mean he is good? Domani hasn't done a damn thing at USC.

Personally, I'd rather get a group of 5 or FCS guy with measurables that was a beast for 2-3 years, than an underperforming former high school 5 star.

He's an injury prone, below average corner, who played on a terrible defense.

I'm surprised he was a take for Saban. If he's getting PT at Alabama that's a good sign for LSU.

If we’re taking a portal corner, it’s going to be an instant starter, stud / lockdown corner.

Otherwise let the kids develop - Stamps, Toviano, Hughes, Zy (when he gets back), JK (if he gets healthy), Sage, Khai, the freshman coming in…

How did Texas just get the ACC defensive player of the year. A linebacker. I see all these articles about top defensive prospects going to our adversaries.

It’s not that complicated. If you are a highly sought defensive player, particularly DB, in the portal and LSU is offering you to be developed by Matt House and Robert Steeples, you aren’t choosing LSU. I hate it as a LSU fan, but it’s reality.

Because Alabama’s primary recruiter Holman Wiggins is from CA and has been on this kid a long time. Domani decided to stay home and play for USC. Alabama never stopped contacts and Wiggins was immediately on him once entering the TP. Alabama has the luxury of signing who they want and processing 2-3 yr kids who are buried in the depth chart.

Because maybe he wasn’t interested in LSU
