Given Maine and Colorado, do any of you moderate GOPers still think calling Dems "fascist"

is overblown hyperbole?

I mean, do they have to start loading their opponents into fking cattle cars for you to wake up and call a spade a spade?

Not really, these groups are dangerous radicals that should be treated as an existential threat.

If they had a button that could kill their political opponents, they’d push it. Of this I have no doubt. For them, nothing is off limits in the pursuit of power . The rules, civility, decorum, The rule of law, etc simply don’t apply to them.

“Donald Trump was trying to interfere with an election and destroy democracy. That’s why we have to interfere with this election!”

Their party apparatus is now primarily coastal elites, big tech oligarchs, neoconservatives and corporate America. Shouldn't surprise anyone except for the naive morons who think voting for Dems means you're fighting fascism.

I think of it as a Western Leftist Corporatocracy who is “global” rather than nationalistic in goals but does utilize a controlled press for propaganda and has adopted the demonization of a group of people for which to target as “the problem” and exploit/mobilize all other groups (the oppressed) against it. Divide and conquer.

It seems to borrow generously the very worst traits of Fascism and Marxism. Throw in the advancements in surveillance and technology nowdays and we have quite the Orwellian entity on our hands.

Whatever label best identifies it, I do not believe it is good or benign in nature.

No.

Consider that the branch of government that had jurisdiction over him in January 2021 acquitted him of insurrection.

Think about that.

And to SFP and the other constitutional scholars that will argue that wasn't a criminal proceeding...

Assuming that Section 3 is applicable to the President (hint...it's not [not included in the listed offices]), the 14th Amendment grants to Congress - and Congress alone - the power to remove the "disability." Thus, Congress is the only entity that can IMPOSE the disability.

Dems are fascists.

Period.

Would you mind telling me what you think is the definition of fascist?

I am baffled by the down votes. It's a legit question and not making a statement.

Isn’t that essentially what they’ve done with some Jan 6’ers? Thrown them into cells without due process.

Moreover, why are they so scared of him? The country (and world as a whole) was doing great while he was in office.

Going back to the days of FDR, he loved the laws the Nazi party were instituting against the Jews. The Nazi's actually used the oppressive language the US had against blacks as the outline of its laws. FDR was a big fan of Mussolini and the Fascist party. No surprise the Dem's still follow their hero, FDR and his fascist ways.

Actually, the way it's going, it will be white folk thrown in Cattle cars in about 20 years.

You know.. Now that I think about it, maybe that's why the GOP is actually so scared to do anything. Afraid that the Nazis... I mean Democrats may throw them in jail if they tried to do something... As many people from Trumps group as they tried to frame it is almost, how could you blame them?

This will all get overturned and nothing will change. I find it very funny, that the same guy that the democrats claim will never be president of the United States, are trying to keep him off the ballot because of false claims. I mean, if Pedo Joe won fair and square last time in a so called route, shouldn’t it happen again?

Jonah Goldberg wrote a fascinating book looking at the origins of Fascism as Modern Progressive's forebearer

That is a very fascist move by them. It’s actually fascinating seeing something like this happen in real time.
