I don't get why this is such a big loss. What was so special about his offense?
LSU had the best offense in the nation because of playmakers and a top notch O-Line. I didn't see much creativity or route concepts a la Joe Brady.
Receivers were covered? Daniels breaks it for 40.
Receivers weren't covered? Daniels over the top to Nabers or Thomas for 60. With a mix of run plays to keep the defense honest.

The majority of this board wanted him gone after last year

They want everyone gone after one game let alone a year.

It is concerning that he first considered leaving to A&M (at least enough to justify a raise) and now is actually leaving to go to ND. I don’t know if I buy the idea that he’s just leaving to go back home.. maybe.. but why entertain two different schools for a lateral move. Unfortunately, it sounds more like running from something than to something to me. But again, wtfdoiknow.

Because ND is moving in one direction with Freeman and we are moving in the other with Kelly. Look at our staff and our recruiting. I'd bet my balls we will be ranked lower than them on average over the next 3 years.

You've done nothing but drag your bleeding vagina all over this site about Kelly since you created your alter. Get a grip, loser.

Please tell us how ND is trending up. Denbrock is about to have to call an offense with a QB that was mediocre at best at Duke.

Everyone stop and take a breath.

The question is would he and LSU have been as successful this year if our QB was average? Was it his play calling that made our O go, or was it a once in a bajillion year QB talent with escapability that made our O so hard to defend?

I have said this before, this season without JD is atrocious, probably a 5-8 season due to our D.

EASIER PATH to the playoffs, year after year. Gets more money for success or get HC gig because of the "playoff" success, and more MONEY!

BUT it was not approved by the BOS and would not be until Feb

According to Mascona the board was supposed to discuss this at the board meeting this week and they ran out of time and pushed it back until February. That is when the board meets again. I hate listening to Mascona but I will during ESD and then again in February. He had a good point. It was going to be a rubber stamp for approval so why couldn’t they do it. The board is just like congress. It doesn’t matter if something important does not get taken care of as long as they can start their Christmas vacation on time.
