Scoot in the Morning says he was told it was due to crime concerns

WWL TV interviews GNO Inc who says its because they did not provide incentives

Puerto Rico appears to have replaced New Orleans.
Billboard
"Meanwhile, television personality Jeannie Mai is set to ring in the New Year for the show’s Pacific time zone section, while Dayanara Torres will lead the festivities in Puerto Rico."

Wow. Such an upgrade.

Oh wait. Two places that could be nice but aren’t.

Nunguesser fricked this up again and needs someone to blame.

So he leaks this out through Landry's NOLA arm and Scoot refuses to give his sources.

Think back a few years where Nunguesser proposed the country christian chick, Dick passed, Latoya ran with it, used other funds, we got the shitshow that was Freedia.

Best thing to ever come out of these was ole boy giving his girl the sneaky pickle up against the police barrier.

Then it's about virtue signaling, not crime.

I'm betting the "crime" ABC is referring to is the bribes and kickbacks to NO politicians .

Took cruise out of San Juan.
Area near terminal was nicer and much cleaner than N.O downtown/FQ.

Ran in historic areas of San Juan. Much cleaner than N.O.

Areas just outside were absolute shitholes. But, I think wherever they'd do NYE would be pretty nice and well kept.

Good. New Years Eve is the most overrated night of the year other than Valentines night

Plus there’s a pretty big bowl game New Years Day so I don’t the city will really skip a beat

I honestly doubt a television production crew would worry about “crime” while filming one evening in the second largest tourist spot in the town.

They can hire police/security and be fine. Unless….they cannot hire police due to their low numbers.

It probably came down to cost. Lack of incentives and high cost of security.

100 percent due to lack of incentives being provided.

That's the only reason they came here in the first place, and we are easily replaceable with another city that will offer incentives.

IB Freeman is doing a celebratory dance right now.

Don't they set up in New Orleans to do central time new years after they're done in NYC? Doesn't make sense to go somewhere that hits midnight before NYC does.
