Just like anything with alcohol, it's going to taste wildly different in different conditions. Are you drinking it a room temperature? Try chilled or on ice.
Some I wouldn't drink with a mixer, but I do love a crown and coke, sometimes life's simple pleasures are the best.

I open the bottle, pour a shot, down the shot. Chase it with Michelin ultra don’t need to mix it with anything just shot it straight.

I’m not against mixing I just prefer a straight shot

I don't like the taste of whiskey at all but I know a lot of people hate beer and I love it so I can believe other people enjoy whiskey even if I don't.

Two exceptions: I love an old fashioned or bourbon with just a slight splash of sours. I'm not sure why I enjoy those when I feel like the whiskey taste in a whiskey coke is overpowering but something about the combo of tastes in those two change the flavor into something enjoyable for me.

Bulleit is my go to. Hard to beat for the price point. I like mine on ice with a splash of Ale8. I call it Kentucky Swamp Water

I like a good juice mixed with a sugar cube, cherry juice and an orange rind. I enjoy a press as well. But I do enjoy it on the rocks, sometimes I throw a citrus rind in with the cubes. It's your bottle, drink it however you like.
