There’s a new decision date for Louisiana 2025 running back Harlem Berry out St. Martin’s in Metairie.

Berry had originally planned to announce his decision on Monday, but recently chose to push the date back, he tells the On3 staff.

Now, Berry will take his reveal to the big stage January 3 from the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, Fla. He is set to be the annual All-American Game’s first underclassman to reveal his college pledge at the game.

This offseason, On3 circled Berry as 2025’s best RB prospect
In May, On3 named Berry the No. 1 running back in the 2025 class, and he stayed put in the same spot when the rankings were updated earlier this week.

“We knew the type of athlete he was, but seeing the feel for running was very impressive,” On3 National Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said when naming Berry No. 1. “He hits some marks from a production standpoint. Doesn’t play the strongest competition, but dominates at a level that you would hope for from a prospect of his caliber. The player, there’s a ton to like with him.

“His burst, play speed and ability to change directions on a dime are arguably the best in the cycle. He backed that up with a great track season, culminating in state titles in 100 meters (10.57 seconds) and 200 meters (21.43 seconds).”

For a glimpse into the type of prospect the junior out of St. Martin is, look no further than track-and-field state titles in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes as well as 4,723 all-purpose yards and 67 touchdowns across his freshman and sophomore seasons. Berry’s On3 comparison is former Texas and NFL star Jamaal Charles, while others sees the same similar running styles as players like Reggie Bush and the late Joe McKnight. Simply put, he’s elite – and he’s the highest-ranked running back out of Louisiana since Leonard Fournette.

Seems quiet regarding Berry. Normally for a kid this good, we see more chatter. He is crazy good! I want to see him in p&g!

The Reggie Bush/Joe Knight comp has me so excited about this kid.

We haven’t had an Rb like him in a long time.

Captain how much do you think money is playing a part in recruitments these days. I heard the local guys on the sports channel say LSU is paying out on average
$62000 per recruit and that ranks between Oregon at $69000 and Miami at $61000. They also said Georgia, Ohio ST.,Alabama, Florida St and Florida are paying out double and more. If this is the case LSU better hit on a lot of 3 and 4 stars with the couple of 5 stars they may get or they’d better find more money.

We literally have an outstanding chance to sign the number 1 rb, Qb and receiver from this class.

I would be very skeptical of anyone giving out figures like that.

Yea I would say that the price really isn’t set in stone because the talent is all different. I mean Matt Rhule said they needed 1.5 million to sign a good quarterback.. (Dylan Raiola sp?) certain schools are throwing insane amounts of money at kids

Jackson, Holly, Durham and Berry....what a RB group that will be! Getting talent like that is why Kelly came to LSU. All that skill position talent paired with what Davis is doing on the O line. Everythings setting up perfect for Underwood

Georgia is paying 140,000 and Florida is paying over 120,000. The other 3 are paying between those 2. At least that’s what they reported. This was one 104.5 this morning
