If ur in the area, drive by Barbe's Baseball Complex...Amazing...It helps to have MLB Draft Picks donate to the baseball program...B U C S...Bucs...

They have a great program but they’ve never had a star mlb player surprisingly just a few guys that had a cup of coffee. Who would be their most successful alum? Wade Leblanc?

Wade by far, he was in the league for over a decade on and off along with japan
then prolly lawerance.
then prolly lawerance.

Yeah, I don't think that's debatable. It's Wade LeBlanc.

Certainly former players donate, even participate, but Barbe's fundraising is far from dependent on those contributions.
Cecchini does a great job of creatively raising money, and so does Sam Houston. I've seen both programs at work from different sides

yep, i would say donations from former players prolly makes up less than 5% of annual funds.

I thought Calcasieu is an open enrollment, meaning for example if you live in Sulphur you could go to any school in Calcasieu? Maybe I’m wrong
That was the majority-to-minority used as our deseg plan, but it was mostly used as a criticism of football.
I don't think that's our deseg plan anymore.

they have built a culture at barbe for baseball.
It's been like that for literally like 30 years.

but yea im sure they are just recruiting everyone from the parish with a whole whopping 200k in it. parish that also produces 2 of the other 5a state powers in Sam Houston and sulphur, a private school power house in St Louis, public power houses Iowa and DQ.....
Yeah Calcasieu Parish is baseball country. It's not just Barbe anymore.

Still waiting……who do you know personally that moved after 8th grade?
Posted on 12/14/23 at 7:43 pm to IAM4LSU777
I’m gonna go ahead and call bullshite on that one!
He moved and played SLC LL in 2016. His older sister was a badass volleyball and softball player for Barbe (2 years older than him). He did go to school in Sulphur after they moved to Lake Charles………..because his mom teaches there. Love it when people claim to “know the family” but have no actual clue! You should call the family and ask!

they moved when he was 11 or 12. Gavin talked about it on the Mikdup interview. Again you have no clue wtf you are talking about.
and i dont care if they dont move or not. If they get out of zone and sit freshman year as required...wtf is the problem again?

Most likely the best summary this entire post, certainly not graduating a college like LSU

Lol. You are not correct boy. I know the family personally. Believe what you will.

Considering he started playing for SLC when he was twelve, and knowing at that time from personal experience, he had to have proof of living in the boundaries… unless he skipped a couple of grades, he didn’t move there when he was in eighth grade.
Boy.

Does his family own rental property in SLC? People use those addresses all the time.
Posted on 12/16/23 at 3:52 pm to LouisianimaI
Nope, they don’t have money like that. They bought a house in SLC and moved when Gavin was 11. He had to be moved before a certain date to be eligible for 12 year old little league and they moved well before that. There was a little controversy because he was going to take other kids’ place on the little league all star team. Trust me, they made sure he lived where he said he did. The guy claiming to know the family can’t know them very well or he would know this too.
Just noticed that guy is from Sulphur so that explains it….lol
