Several girls fell in love with the fame and attention this spring/summer. And when I say several, I mean every returning player except for Smayah Smith. The transfers and freshmen were the only hungry players when this season started.

Still time to turn it around, but injuries have not been kind to this team.

The starting 5 is good enough to contend for a title/final four. But we will need ADR to continue to develop, she’s getting better each week.

Poa works hard but she’s gonna be limited in terms of what she can do. Not being a threat to score kinda makes things more difficult. I don’t see anyone else on the bench ready right now to step up to contribute. The other freshmen aren’t ready yet

That's why Kim putting in all the bench players and freshmen to give them valuable minutes. We may need couple of them Jan-March and tourney play. Unfortunately, Smith was the one we really needed. Rosario is doing pretty good job for a freshman. Freshmen and bench players can contribute even if just 3-4 min to give our starters a breather.

Saw on another site she BULL rushed HVL in tunnel leading to locker room with intent to harm. Have not seen that anywhere else, did I miss it here ?

Was HVL waving a red towel?

Everyone in this thread will make it seem like this is a big deal but it’s really not.

When SEC play starts you’ll be rethinking this dumbarse statement! She may have been out of shape but she was a 5 star talent and best ball handler on the team.

She likes Big Macs. Her play last year was terrible at best. She’s lucky to have a ring. She needs to take health seriously

Can't speak to the "bull rush" rumors but did catch a Poole pre season interview video clip. When asked about her opinion on HVL, with a huge, certified sneer, she answered "she's a dog A dog". Absent the sneer, a compliment if I understand some of today's slang. With the sneer, her dislike was evident.

I believe with a few more games played Kent and Bartlett can be playing for 3 to 6 mins of action when needed.

A nothing burger?
With the win, Van Lith is now a five-time USA Basketball gold medalist (5-on-5 and 3×3). This was her second time playing with the senior team and it marks her first gold medal at that level.

Her play this season was embarrassing. In that loss to Colorado, she looked like someone from the end of the bench. Was totally unprepared for the moment, physically as well as mentally.

ESPN has this on the national headlines sidebar. Wow, how far our program has come since CMK took over. Even a bench player being off the team makes national news!!!

CKM and the program are victims of their own success. Kim has her hands full with all the talent and egos she has on this team. And that is why she makes the big bucks.

A thread full of bullshite from uninformed idiots who just started following WBB, typified by the shithead I quoted.

For about the millionth time, KP was and is not an All American. But she was a key contributor to the NC team. She hit clutch threes and played rugged, lockdown defense on opponents’ best scorers.

Losing her for whatever reason hurts because a big strength of this team was going to be a ten-deep rotation. As 357 pointed out, that got shot all to hell before we’ve reached SEC play and the tenuous depth on this team is scary. This team will be very good regardless; likely at least an Elite Eight team. But the goal is to repeat as National Champions. That’s going to be hard to do with a seven player rotation.

Here is that second unit that I said could make the tourney as a 4-5 seed with a decent bench and what happened with them:

G Last-Tear Poa: a great reserve PG off the bench but now having to be depended on too much while HVL is on the shelf.

G Angelica Velez: once again, for all the casuals, she was NOT taken solely to get her teammate ADR. She was a top high school recruit who should be much further along in her development. Unfortunately, she still looks lost and at present is not a contributor.

G: Kateri Poole: no longer on the roster.

F: Sa’Myah Smith: injured. Out for season. This is a kick in the nuts.

F: Aalyah Del Rosario: coming along okay as a defender, rebounder, and scorer—IF she could have been brought along slowly. Unfortunately, she is forced into being the first post reserve off the bench behind Reese and Morrow. She’s going to have to develop faster in that role.

Somewhere in here one or both of Kent and Bartlett is going to have to step up big time and contribute important minutes off the bench. Even then, it’s going to be challenging for this team to repeat as NC’s after losing Smith and Poole.
