Spot on. Turned out to be a fraud and a coward.

Not just CN, but all the local media refuses to ask real questions.
Our parish officials work in a vacuum. No one presses them for answers. No one presses them when govt. fails us. No one looks deep into what is really going on.

They really f'd up that CATS story with the guy who was fired for a failed drug test. CATS is a shite show no doubt, but why put your effort into defaming someone (that had a prescription for what he failed the test over) instead of taking down the corrupt and disfunctional system that is CATS? Seems like after every sensationalized news story he put out, the organizations he targeted were still a disaster even after his story.

Journalist like Nakamoto are used up like cheap whores by the enemies, under links, and competitors of the people they investigate and expose.
The trade off is the Nakamoto’s of the world get to portray themselves as top notch, detail oriented, holier than thou corruption fighters. The reality is they are spoon fed the details of the corruption by someone on the inside who stands to gain something from the exposure.
The lack of any real investigative substance into the present corruption in East Baton Rouge over the past 8 years is the real legacy of Chris Nakamoto.
We all make our choices in life. Now live with them.

Remember, WAFB basically fired the one reporter that was trying to do this.
Broome, at one point, even told WAFB she wasn’t going to talk to them if this reporter was the one that was going to be doing a certain story because this reporter wasn’t “fair”.
So after being fired, this reporter went started her own news company. In response, BR government officials have all effectively boxed her out by claiming she isn’t media, thus they are not obligated to give her access. Despite the fact that she is still racking up National journalism awards and accolades left and right.

He was the epitome of feckless weenie. All bark, no bite.
He'll be fine wherever he winds up. Every city has dog catchers, mosquito control, meter maids, etc...to go take down

I remember one journalist that was trying to take a pretty big swing at BRPD. She was sent to the unemployment line.

In terms of news/media, BR is considered small market for the news industry. My opinion is Nakamoto has ambition and drive, requiring them to go to climb the ladder to large markets or become a PIO for the government or big industry The other option is to get a cushy anchor position on the 5&6pm like StreetBeat did, lol.
There will be a void in local investigative reporting, i.e. exposing corruption/bad government.
Kiran: not hating on her, but her investigative reporting has slacked off this past year. Hopefully she can produce some stories this year that will garnish the same results as Nakamoto. No more of the EBR vs. BRPD/Union. Present the facts :friend or foe!

Hearing Nakamoto is going to be joining Gray TV's InvestigateTV. Gray Media also owns WAFB in BR (WBRZs main competition), Fox8 in Nola and stations in Lake Charles, Alexandria, Shreveport, & Monroe. Crazy that Nakamoto will be basically jumping across the street, but now he'll be more statewide and probably nationwide.
