Les is normally a contrarian.

But what he seems to be saying here is that while a completely wrong and outsized reaction it was to pull a knife on a coach, it was still a reaction to something. And it may be worth considering what it was a reaction to.

That's not outrageous.

That's not outrageous.

It wouldn't be outrageous if that's what he was trying to say, but it's not. Or if it is then Lester has a problem being coherent.

What he is saying - explicitly - is that the coaches failed him. Lester is unfortunately spewing the nihilistic crap that holds no one responsible for their own behavior.
