College sports is well on its way to being worse than professional sports because of it. That is saying a lot. Many fans turned to college sports over professional to have some remote semblance of brotherhood and fairness. All of that is well on its way out the door.

Why would you want to kill a free, labor-friendly market in favor of a system that lets the ncaa, the sec, and the universities keep more of the profits?

You believe that NIL player money comes at the expense of the school’s profits? No way.

SMH. It’s still against the NCAA’s rules to pay a player to play at a particular school. If boosters want to circumvent the rules that’s between them and the player.

Gunna have to do something if we want to stay relevant. It will be USC, A&M and Texas, Oregan. They have the most money. Look what they’ve done in a couple of yrs. From erelevant to some stout rosters.

Since NIL’s are private endorsement agreements between a player and a sponsor the NCAA has zero control of such agreements.

Basically some rich booster says if you play for the school of my choosing for a specified time I’ll pay you $X to appear in a commercial for product Y.

This is no different than say Capital One paying John Travolta to put on a Santa outfit and dance in one of their commercials.

Do we really want the government stepping in and regulating these types of transactions?
