Cornerback Will Lee

As a freshman All-American at Iowa Western in 2022, Lee helped lead the Reivers to a national junior college championship. After arriving at K-State late in the spring, he still claimed a starting cornerback job opposite Parrish and had a solid sophomore year.

Lee was sixth on the team with 42 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and six pass breakups. But he saw his playing time diminish with the emergence of Johnson, who had only switched to cornerback toward the end of last season.

From their local paper, The Topeka Capital Journal.

He was hurt mid-way through the year, that's when his PT went down. That paper is vague on that, but I looked it up. Has a great frame and seems like a solid depth player at CB for us.

Between him and Maclin, it casts some doubt on the rumors that Steeples is moving on.

ETA: It looks like him and Maclin could have been HS teammates, both from Kirkwood.

ETAA: They were teammates in the 2019 season. As a WR Lee had 13 TDs to Maclin's 9. Maclin scored 5 in one game though. Lee was also a LB on that team.

Yeah, thats where I was going with that comment.
Man I will be really disappointed if Steeples is still an on field coach next year. Just go get Chevis Jackson for fricks sake

Steeples could just be moved to a new role on staff.

I think maybe Steeples is a coach that was elevated too quickly. Perhaps they can find an analyst role for him and let him learn for a few years.

WHy? I would rather find a coach with some proven success somewhere in college football to be an analyst.

Right because nobody on this board thought that Harris was worth the risk.

There's no cap on analysts and they come from all places, from high schools to the NFL.

All things being equal I'd rather have Cobee Bryant, who has no injury issues and has played the position at a high level this season.

Maybe there's another explanation. Maybe he's being reassigned to analyst. LSU would have to pay him regardless, right? Unless he leaves on his own and gives up his buyout.

Depends what his contract is. Many assistants are on 1 or 2-year contacts. This is his second year, so his contact is likely up.
