Do ya'll feel he is the best Saint of all time at RB? How do ya'll feel he measures in the history of NFL RBs? He came in to the league with Ricky Williams already being a high draft pick and starter. Seemed smaller and faster but as he aged, got stronger and turned kind of into a power back. Always had good vision, good receiving back, good power and underrated speed.

Always felt like he was the highlight, along with Joe Horn, some defensive players, during some really bad years.

The record books say Mark Ingram is the greatest saint RB of all time

Talent wise, it’s Kamara

No one will believe me but I always liked Chuck Muncie.

Ironhead, Dalton, PT, MI, AK47 and 2. hard choices

He was a punt returner in college.

I remember watching the draft when he was drafted. I. Completely. Lost. It. We already had Ricky Williams and had so many other needs, not to mention he was from Ole Miss. I hated the pick. Long story short, I’m at the Saints game in 2008 watching and cheering on one of my favorite players as he sets the Saints touchdown record against the Packers.

Deuce
A true Saint.

Duece ran Ricky Williams out of New Orleans thus putting a dagger into the fleeting life of the Ditka's legacy in New Orleans. It is a stat that will not be in any Saints record books, but it is one that I greatly appreciate.

He was 6’1”, 225 lbs.

I’d say talent-wise, he’s the best Saints running back I’ve ever seen. Kamara at 2.

That’s not a slight to Kamara. He’s as good as anyone in the NFL today. But Deuce would still be great in this era. I think Kamara would be relegated to a third down back in a pre-spread offense era. Again, not because he isn’t great. You just had to be bigger then. Deuce had that size, but also the ability to outrun defenders on a screen.

Deuce is my favorite Saints RB (and favorite Saints player not named Drew), then Hilliard but mostly because I'm also an LSU fan. I think Kamara is unique because he plays the position so much differently than those guys, you could make the argument that the HB of the 80s and 90s is a fullback by modern NFL standards. You can't really get a job at a receiver-eligible position in the NFL unless you can reliably catch the football. The FB that the Saints have is the obvious outlier here.

His 2003 season was fantastic.

Hurt his ankle early in 04

ACL in 2005 and 07.

Very solid in 2006. Underutilized as a short yardage option in 08

When healthy he was a great back

Really great RB that ran hard with power and speed especially in his younger days. He was amazing at Ole Miss.

He played for Ole Miss. One strike against him. Other than that, a very productive RB for the Saints.
