Looking at the video, and google maps, it looks to me like it was heading from Canada to US..the eyewitness says heading to Canada, I'll believe my eyes I guess but hard to reconcile a local eye witness.

The lines going from Canada into us move so slowly. We spent over an hour on a light traffic day trying to get back through the border after visiting the other side of the falls. Bumper to bumper all the way to the passport booth. Going the other way the opposite is true. Definitely can speed up to border control. I want to say there were alternate lanes for big trucks and even shopping that were mostly empty.

Supposedly the car was directed to go to secondary search when it took off at a high rate of speed and went into the opposite lane basically into what would be on coming traffic of what was coming from Canada.
