I think what EV manufacturers are looking at is regulation. Democrats are writing laws to eliminate internal combustion engines. I think most of these manufacturers are trying to stay in front of the curve with this next generation as well.

Kids now are being taught it's a climate emergency.

This correct, and as you said, a big reason why manufacturers jumped on the EV bandwagon so hard.

But losing $30K per vehicle isn't sustainable for legacy manufacturers, and it's really tough on startups ( Rivian).
