The few things that caught my attention:
- No interest in Aggie
- Mentions LA with FL, GA, and TX as recruiting hot beds. Did not include CA which is surprising. Thinks HCs in these states are expected to be successful.
- Capitalizing on early tenure momentum is important, i.e., the moment. Noted how they (UF) did that after beating FSU in '05. Led to big recruiting class, etc which led to a natty in '06 and another in '08. Pretty critical of Napier for not doing the same after beating UTenn this year.

Which is what really piqued my interest. Did we take advantage of the momentum after beating Bama last year? IMO, not nearly like we coulda / shoulda.

This is common knowledge for years now. The big reason Saban came to LSU was because he noticed how many NFL players were from Louisiana. He figured if he could lock up recruiting college players in Louisiana by keeping them in state at LSU, he'd have an edge over the rest of the SEC.

A Heisman Trophy in 2023 changes the trajectory of that momentum dramatically. BK needs to be all in on letting JD eat these last two games and the PR department needs to be working overtime. There’s still one massive win left on the table this year and that trophy is it

Heisman is a long shot, even though it’s deserved. But, that alone doesn’t change any trajectory. See 2019/2020 for evidence.

They're not all in on anything. They're clueless. I know you think that's a baseless statement, but it's not.

You can blame the fall on Ed O, his girlfriends, their kids and a mid life crisis.

Won the west, landed a top 5 Recruiting Class, started preseason top 5. Disappointed with 3 losses this year but still in the Media daily because of Daniels Season.

You could say the same thing about the cycles immediately following the 2019 Natty.

When you think about our LSU Tigers, and the job Kelly has done so far I just cant understand why so many of you have such a harsh opinion of the man.

We could easily be like Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida, and to a lesser degree (so far) Auburn, in that once great programs wandering the wilderness with failure after failure, one bad coaching hire after another, and mediocrity with no end in sight.

Instead Kelly has given us 2 competitive, exciting seasons, playing games that matter deep into the season, and this is supposed to be the time where we really struggled to get LSU back in to a position to be dominant.

Going forward, our trajectory is such that I wouldn't trade where we are headed with anyone, Georgia and Bama included.

Kelly will get the defensive issues ironed out the same way he got our offensive issues corrected. By bringing in good people and let them do their jobs.

Kelly has been a stellar ambassador and custodian of the LSU program, and so far he's been even better than I thought he would be. I was incredibly high on him when we first hired him.

Just like last year when everyone was shitting on JD5 and I defended him with damn near every post I made, I feel even more emphatically that Brian Kelly is the perfect coach for LSU.

He is absolutely the right man for this job, and when his time is done here, we will treasure and revere him like Bama does with Saban for the Dynasty that he is well on his way to creating. Feel free to bump this in a year or two so I can shite on the dumbasses who want him gone, much like I do with the dumbasses who wanted to bench Jayden for Nuss or whoever else.

I agree with this post. I think people get annoyed with Kelly for many of the same things we did with Les (though BK is a much better coach IMO). The stubbornness to make certain changes and dumb losses like ATM last year and OM this year can be infuriating at times but there is no question that BK has done a fantastic job so far in many aspects and the future looks promising.

Yep.

O was on top of the world following '19 and he squandered it all.

Well put. The most succinct way I can put it is, because the endgame everyone wants that will no doubt come isn’t happening as fast as people want, they want to give up on the build to get there.

Agree with you on Kelly. He was the right hire for us. We are a work in progress, and he needs to address DC and Dline coaching spots to continue our way back to elite.

No way that last year you knew Daniels would be this good, so chill on trying to get cred for that. Nobody could have known that Daniels would be this good. The credit goes to Daniels and his coaches for possibly the biggest leap ever in college football.

After beating Bama, we struggled at Arky, embarrassed ourselves at Aggie, got embarrassed vs UGA, destroyed Purdue, and then flopped vs FSU.

That's not what capitalizing on the Bama win is supposed to look like. That was part of Urban's point. It's what Napier failed to do after their win vs UTenn this year.
