The things you said happened to House to make his job harder, did indeed happen.

However, the defense hasn't just looked young, there has been poor game planning (which has been admitted in the post-mortem PCs), the players who played last year have regressed with their fundamentals, and there has been a complete absence of mid-game adjustments.

I was a House defender until Alabama. Unbelievably poor game plan.

I agree, but don’t think he’s been given complete control. I also remember what he pulled off year one without all the injuries.

Agreed and seconded.

I said it in another thread: we may have freshmen and inexperienced 3-stars starting, but they aren't scrubs that would have a hard time starting for Little Rock HS.

There's no excuse for how poorly they were coached up and schemed in the games where they got blown off the field. Yeah, sure, they couldn't compare talent-wise to other teams with 4-5 star talent across the board. That said, there's no excuse for LSU's defense to look worse than Vandy this year.

If you have less talented players, you plan around their deficiencies and use the talent they do have to maximum effect (whatever level that may be).

In my opinion, that didn't happen.
