Any dropoff or improvement also depends on the rest of the team. Do we lose both WRs? Who do we bring in to shore up defense? How do any new coaches acclimate?
Lots of questions about next year that nothing to do with QB.

Will be extra tough for Nuss because he's losing two elite receivers in Nabers and BTJ. The others, Hilton, Sampson et al, are good but no experience. As with Jayden, could see an okay first year and much better second year as everyone gets some experience. Good news is that the Oline is back.

He’s barely played man and looks great. Imagine having played as many games as Daniels. Jayden has turned into a hell of a QB this year but Nuss has the potential to be great as well.

IMO, not much drop off at all. With all the reps, a better running game from the backs, and O-line improvements……life will be good on that side of the ball. He potentially throws for 3000-3500 yards.

Listen, I'm not against Nuss at all, but he's been at LSU for a couple of years and this season couldn't win the job over Daniels, who several of you even stated was not very good last season. There's a reason LSU went looking for a transfer at QB a couple of years ago because they didn't have confidence with the ones on the roster at that time, which included Nuss.

He's going to start against Florida so why even throw this question out to next year?

Point well taken. The genius consensus was he is hands down the better option to where we are now. He has a strong arm, but he has been eratic in the past. I think he’ll be fine. We’ll know soon enough. Fans be fans. These fan boards most important function besides hilarity is allowing the angst to work itself out. It doesn’t matter what sport or team.

How about we just make it through this season first and worry about next season next season?

He will have young wide receivers that most likely will drop balls! I’m telling you now!

He needs playing time . Has an arm . I was totally impressed against Georgia . Needs to be developed . He will be OK . BTW , with the hitting in the NFL , JD better watch it . I watched The jets vs SD game last nite . Wow ! the hits ! I wouldn’t want to run alot in the NFL with his build .

Nuss will be fine. Not having Neighbors and Thomas is a much bigger issue.

The same people that got Jayden there are going to be coaching up Nussmeier and his elite passing talent.

And have been coaching him for two years now.

I would love for him to be the guy, but I just haven't seen enough to convince me he's the right guy for us next year.

I’m not 100% sure he’s the starter next year. Could see Kelly bringing in a portal QB for competition.

Once you’re named starter, you get most of the reps in practice, you get much more direct one on one coaching. Game plans are developed around your particular talent. It’s a new ball game when your the guy.

We've had some pretty crucial drops this year.

He was a redshirt freshman with one fairly rough game under his belt. That was almost two full years ago, fool. He proved in the UGA and Purdue game last year that, when given time to prepare and be a part of the game plan, he’s 100% an SEC-quality QB.

well if our best receivers drop a perfect pass he throws like Malik did, then his stats will not be very good. He doesn't have the wheels like JD, but quite frankly, neither does any other QB in recent memory. JD is a freak as a runner and he showed it big time against Bama....he was our entire offense, even when others weren't doing their part. Just incredible display of QBing imho.
Nuss has the ability to operate a pro style passing game. If his OLine improves and his receivers do their job, Nuss will be just like Jamarcus Russell throwing imho, but hopefully smarter.
