re: If Nuss is the man next season, how far of a drop off do we see?

Everything is relative. Daniels basically went from being a decent but frustrating QB with great running ability, to a legitimate Heisman contender. This basically happened starting in the 2nd half against Arkansas this year. It would make sense the perceived drop-off would rise dramatically in that situation.
That explains thinking Nuss was better and now seeing that Daniels is clearly better. That doesn't mean Nuss got any worse though. If you thought he could be a good starter in August there's no reason to feel different, if anything the offensive staff's development of Daniels should make you feel more confident in Nuss next season.

Alot, not confident in him right now.

The drop off is going to be significant. But truthfully, the drop off from JD to just about anyone would be significant. He's the best in the SEC/country right now and that will be a tough act to follow.
But you also have to take into account Nuss performance to date. It's not been impressive. Make whatever excuses you want, but he's done nothing to justify any real enthusiasm. He could improve dramatically but that's a hope not a certainty.
Keep your fingers crossed and pray for an improved defense.

Nuss will have plenty of talent around him and a whole offseason to lead the workouts as the presumed starter. I'm not worried about the offense.
Even if we hire the best defensive mind in football, the damage done by the lack of coaching this year is significant and will be a hard obstacle to overcome. JMHO.

I fear a huge drop off. Nuss has not impressed me. I realize he has not had many opportunities but I just don’t see greatness there. I hope he proves me wrong.

The only comparison would be the Georgia game last season.
Nuss wasn't receiving first team reps and was still competitive.
I wouldn't worry about the QB. Waste your time worrying about the Defense.

CBK will go out and get and RPO experienced QB. Nuss is good but not elite..

then you must be willfully blind.

Raiders did pretty good back in the NFL day w Lamonica, Plunkett, Stabler, etc. Just throw it as far and as accurate as you can and let your elite receivers go get it.
I like that approach - along w a strong running game. Adapt to your personnel. If Nuss is the QB in 2024 that will be the only way to make it work. Nuss ain't running for 1,000 yards.

If you believe Daniels is the same QB we were arguing about last season, you need help.
He was just a running first QB, now he is a complete QB, and has been since the first half of the Arkansas game.
Since he completed his transition no one has argued that Nuss is better.
We don't know for sure what Nuss is, but I have confidence he is as good or better than the majority f the QBs prior to Burrow.

Wait I thought this board was all on the Nuss bus being the savior of LSU football.

Very little:
-RBs will get more carries / gain more yards (should be good w/our Oline)
-Passing will be similar but maybe a little more stretch-the-field throws
-I guessing more throws in TE direction
Tougher schedule so if we have a defense, we'll be alright. If not, it'll be fugly...
