Awesome quote.

quote:

Malik Nabers

needs more recognition nationally. I see Harrison getting most of it and his numbers are not as good as Nabers or Thomas.

I keeping seeing everyone touting him as the non QB to be in the Heisman race. They really only care about wins and losses over stats it seems in some cases.

What’s crazy about this is that after the 2019 season people said that Burrow and Chase were once in a lifetime type of players.

Here we are not even 4 years later and we have a better QB/WR duo than we did in 2019.

i can't agree with that no matter what.

2019 had in addition to burrow/chase a burrow to 1500+ yd Jefferson as well as a plus 1400 yd rusher in clyde.

Yep, surprisingly, Thomas/Nabers have better numbers through 8 games than Jefferson/Chase did. However, the trio of Burrow/Chase/Jefferson went off down the stretch, and at an absurd level in the CFP

I get what he is trying to say but this quote comes off as such a back handed compliment.

It reads: "Jayden was a giant pussy from California but now that he's in Louisiana we have taught him to be tough."

I guess if you want to interpret it that way, but I don’t think there was any negative connotation intended from Nabers

I don't think there was either. Its just funny that it reads that way. He was trying to say that Jayden has leaned into his new home and is as tough as anyone from Louisiana.

But the way its worded makes it sound like he was a giant Puss before getting here (WHich I get was not the point).

That’s exactly what he meant. A real friend stabs you in the face with the truth.

Jayden was a little soft when he got here, and not just physically… between the ears as well. The toughness he has taken on has made the difference.

I disagree. I know he was afraid to throw to guys who weren't wide open but I don't think it was because he was soft. I think he just didn't have the trust with his WRs and he didn't trust his OL.

I could see how one might say that the refusal to throw to contested WRs is mentally soft but I'd argue that a QB that is mentally soft wouldn't have been able to weather the storm he did early in 2022.

He also has NEVER been physically soft. The kid runs hard and has always given up his body to get the first or TD. He also rarely misses snaps for a guy that takes as many hits as he does.

The difference between this year and last year is due to better OL play, better chemistry and trust with WRs, and Diggs being able to make the D pay when they leave a box light.
