It seems that Desantis made a very bad decision to go the route he went. If he had gone as more of a moderate Republican he would have gotten the great number of republicans that just do not want Trump. He should have painted himself as “better option “ then Trump and just was not able to do that. He got killed and labeled very early on and that narrative has never stopped.
He also should not have run with trump running unless choosing the more moderate path.

First, I’d love to see the reasons why people claim he’s so conservative, because he’s not at all. He’s also not a better option than trump as it is clearly seen. The problem isn’t trump, it’s people like you who desire anything but trump.

Ron is lowkey weak af and awkward and it seems like everything he says is forced.

Ronbots didn’t consider this and now he’s toast

Fake persona Rob shouldn’t have sold his soul, his pride, his ego and his boots for his ‘24 aspirations.

Now he’s damaged goods. A different candidate will arise for 28 and Rob will be yesterdays news.

The TDS RINOs convinced Ron - who had stated that he would not oppose Trump if Trump ran - that Trump was/is less unelectable than Ron, and Ron bit and broke ranks. Ron has tainted himself, perhaps irreparably so. Anybody that does not stand with Trump and the totally corrupt prosecution of him is not fit to lead 'Trump Nation' and will be rejected as such. It's kinda like Hamas/Islam vs the Jews...there is not middle ground.

How many threads are we gonna have on this today?

The MAGA wing of the party is strong now. His best chance was to stick with the "I can win vs Biden...Trump lost" but he didn't and never cut into the numbers backing Trump.

Only positive for DeSantis is he won't shrivel up like Rubio did after 2016

As someone that leaned Desantis, I can’t disagree with the OP. His campaign has been a disaster.

you can push, and pull, and knead, and pitch, and yaw, and hand-wring and post a dozen times an hour about Corn-Silk Combover. We're still voting for the guy who proved himself as governor. Some of us twice.

But post away.

Can you tell me how many people consist of "the great number of Republicans that just do not want Trump is? Right now Trump is crushing the entire field in every state.

You all want Trump supporters to hold their noses and vote for your candidates, but objectively it seems to me right now it would be easier for everyone else to rally behind the leader.

His only job is/has been to split the GOP base and create as much infighting as possible. He has less than zero chance of winning the rust belt states that delivered Trump to the WH. As long as he remains an effective foil, donors will fund him.

The “failure” is a feature, not a bug.

I don’t agree with your assessment.

Obviously, his plan was a failure but your reasoning is way off.

It’s not Ron. It’s the people advising him, IMO

Yeah, it's almost like he's actually a conservative. Honestly ready for him to just come back to Florida. At least we'll be good no matter what happens in the shitshow next year.

His mistake was taking on Trump. Should have supported Trump and not brazenly took him on. He would have had a legit shot at 2028 if Trump wins next election.

Desantis not very bright TBH. He had a path and has now fricked it up now and in the future.

He is about to get term limited in Florida, right?

Probably was really hoping he could be Diet Trump with Trump Classic not in the field.
