The mining and refining of ore to produce one Tesla battery produces more emissions than a Honda Accord will emit over 100,000 miles. Then you have to burn natural gas or coal to charge the EV daily. It is a completely dirty process from start to finish

Got anything to back that up?

No. There is still plenty of stupidity to go. Just watch the EV idiots that post in this thread.

Still trying to figure out why if it's electric, they have to make them look absolutely retarded.

It probably came from a BoomerBook meme. I think my uncle shared something like that recently.

I assume because of tax breaks and rebates.

What about transmission loss? If we're gonna compare fruits let's at least use the same fruit.

How do people function with car notes that come from prices like that?

Idk, but part of me thinks people really dgaf when it comes to their vehicles and affordability. I see tons of super expensive vehicles on the road everyday and I know it doesn't match the income distribution of the area I live.

FTR, I don't think I'm an EV idiot. I have no dog in the hunt. I have no idea what is better for the environment, and to a degree, don't give a shite. I just think this thing looks cool and the interior is awesome Some of these EVs are fun as shite to drive too.

I'd consider an EV as a daily commuter one day when my vehicle's wheels fall off, but I'm way too cheap right now

I drive a 6.7L Cummins, I don't do it because it has lower emissions than an EV tho. Seems like a weird thing to lie about. EVs are worse in plenty of other ways

More likely that it's easier for them to get it legal to sell because of an EV friendly DOT.

State level EV incentives are a nothing burger.

The absolutely great news about electric vehicles and the green movement is there is such a massive opportunity to capitalize on the completely moronic liberal policies.

I know of several companies working on carbon sequestration projects that emit more CO2 in the process of sequestering CO2 than they actually capture. But it doesn’t matter because the IRS and EPA do not mandate recording of process emissions they just have inspectors visit to verify the capture and recording process to ISO standards.

The next few years are an absolute gold mine for capitalizing on these absurd policies and I highly recommend anyone here that is looking to start a small business to look into all of it.

At least it is aerodynamic. That should help with gas mileage.

Even if they don't emit more CO2 than they capture those things a huge waste of money/resources

And the 5,200,000 Republicans in California. People forget a huge piece of that toxic state is red. There are more Republicans in California than there are people in Louisiana.

Lookup what direct air capture and the new tax credit passed by shite pants is and get back to me.

I know of a company that burns hundreds of gallons of diesel per day to generate electricity to power a DAC unit that captures literally nothing. The gov paid for the cost of the unit and half the cost of fuel plus pays for any CO2 captured. Meanwhile percent CO2 is being blasted into the atmosphere every second while they sit and laugh their asses off. It’s absolutely amazing

It's been at peak stupidity for a while now.

You need a vehicle that uses petrol to charge the battery-powered ones.

Is it stupid if you're not one of the people claiming to drive one for environment reasons and drive one as a commuter car every day to work, where they have free chargers in the parking lot, to save on gas money?

That's the only reason I'd do it. I'd potentially buy a lower cost EV as a pure daily work commuter and my office has a couple dozen free charging stations.
