I bought one about a year ago. It’s very good, but in hindsight I’m not sure I’d pay $3k for a 77” again.

Depends how price sensitive you are and what you value most with your viewing experience. Sony is considered the best at image processing.

Some of the absolute best TVs are Sony, but they are also among the most expensive and the worst value proposition.

Looking at a 65' one that is in high 600's. I don't have to have one that is 20K ultra crystal, 200 refresh rate, and 20 HDMI inputs.

I paid over $2000 for a 65" Sony Bravia TV. The picture was beautiful and unlike any other I had seen before, until it suddenly did not turn on about 3 months after the 3 year extended warranty at Best Buy ran out. Went out and bought a 70" LG from Walmart for $500. The picture isn't as good but not doing the Sony Bravia thing again.

Love mine. Was buying a few TCLs before and while they looked good they didn't last.

Sony Bravia TV's are beautiful, fast response, blacks are awesome, angles are great.. The TV's firmware can be a nightmare.

I'm 6 years into one and have to factory reset the TV once every 6 months and have to clear the cache and do a system reboot once a month, and have have to unplug the TV for 10 sec once a week. (this all started about 18months into ownership/use)

I'll never own a Sony Bravia again. Ever.

I have two TCL/Roku TVs in the house, both 5 years old (one outside on patio) and they work perfect all the time.

I don't connect it to my wifi. Not interested in smart TV functions.

I bought a 75 top of the line Bravia about 2yrs ago and it’s the best tv I’ve ever owned, aside from my old Panasonic plasma. That tv was AMAZING.

At the size/price point you are looking at, tcl or Hisense will greatly outperform similarly priced models from Sony or Samsung.

Don’t get me wrong, a top of the line Sony is better than a tcl, it unfortunately costs significantly more.

Sony has the least compromises. I have an x90L and love it. You absolutely cannot go wrong with an X90L, X93L, or X95L.

I knew exactly what I wanted. A Sony A8H. At the time, the average price was $2499.00.

Best Buy had one that the sales guy said, "a customer purchased, but then decided it was too small (55") and decided to purchase a 65", so returned this in the grace period." I inspected it and asked to see the hours in it. In the menu it showed only around 20 hours, and everything else looked good, so I purchased it at $1499 thinking I'd just snaked a deal.

At home, I looked up calibration numbers and in doing so I found out that the hours the sales guy showed me were the hours from the most recent time it had been plugged in, not the actual hours.

There is a button sequence from the remote you can put in to see the actual number of hours in a hidden, service menu. It actually had over 13,000 hours on it.

I was pissed.

I wrapped it back up and took it back. Told the manager the guy should be fired for telling me a bullshite story and he confirmed it was actually a store demo that had been on the wall for over a year.

Anyway, I set up bot lookouts for sales on this and since I already had a beautiful Pioneer 50" plasma, I was in no hurry.

Three months later, I receive a price alert. Best Buy had dropped the price to $1099, online sales only. I tried my local area and there were none available, so I tried other zip codes and found it available in Fort Lauderdale. I went in hoping they were not store pickups, and they weren't. It accepted my address here in the DFW area, and five days later, it was delivered. The best part was paying Best Buy 24 monthly payments at ZERO percent interest, final payment made just this month! Ha-ha.

I'm the meantime, they were still listed for sale in the local stores for $2299, at a "$200 off" sale. LOL.

I was able to do the same for my 65" LG OLED B7a. I put up a bot lookout and maybe 4 months later I got notice of a little tiny block ad in a Nebraska Furniture 8-page digital flyer that came out late one evening at 10pm and I just happened to be working on an expense report when I got this *ding*bto let me know. That LG OLED set had been selling for $2600 everywhere at the time, but the next morning I was second in line about 2 hours before opening to purchase one at $1197.00. They had 12 available and there were probably 25 persons in line. The manager came out and gave everyone in line a number on a written item ticket to take to the register for the TVs and at the 13th person the manager told everyone that 12 was all they had available. Lots of groans. Lots of elation from the 12 who got there early.

So the moral of the story is, do your research, find what you want and then be willing to be patient if you want something at a super deal price.

While I do love mine, I have had to restart it multiple times, and that has never happened with any of my previous TVs.

I have a Sony X930E and to this day I haven't seen a non OLED tv within it's price class out perform it. The firmware is a little laggy but they seem to be trying to fix that with software updates.

We also own two Hisense R6 roku tv's and they work great for the black friday price we paid. Picture if not on the same planet as the X930E.

For higher end TV's I would and will only buy Sony. For anything else, TCL QM8, Hisense U8 would be great options.

I have a 55" Bravia purchased from Crutchfield. Don't know how old it is, but bought it before 75" and larger TVs were widely available. It works fine and I would not hesitate to buy another.

I paid 10k for a 79 inch Bravia about 7 years ago

Literally 3 weeks later Sony changed its smart tv software and quit updating mine .

The smart TV function only has an old version of Netflix and Amazon prime and YouTube

None of the other apps does it have and it never will .

Just 3 months after spending 5 figures on this tv they stopped supporting it
