Brah this ain’t for Council on Aging or some other entity with no oversight, it’s for EMA services. Kinda important.

If La property taxes were more in line with other states the sales taxes would be much lower

Let the property tax fail and I promise you if it is really necessary, they will come up with the money. For example, possibly use COA tax funds or God forbid, the gov't cuts back on something else.

Who oversees EMS? Who appoints the board? Are they running a surplus like BREC and the Library Board? Could we legally divert more tax dollars away from the Libraries to EMS to cut taxes?

This discussion needs to happen.

Brah:

EMS can charge for their services. While we do have a great EMS program, it seems that they could run it like a private ambulance and make money ala Acadian.

How are you still falling for this government scam? They waste tax dollars on unnecessary things, then come to ignorant voters for more in the name of EMS, or teachers, or firefighters. The government already had plenty of money.
