Arcia is not an everyday SS for a playoff team but not sure who we could realistically go get and Grissom is not the answer there. My guess is we do nothing there.

Grissom will be interesting. Think he’s not a SS and they know that. 2nd and 3rd and locked down for awhile. Moving him to a primary LFer with IF capability makes sense to me.

Assuming Morton comes back, he needs to slide down to the 4 slot and we need to go find a playoff starter. Counting on age 40 Morton to be a playoff starter is not wise. Assuming he retires, we must go get somebody.

Bullpen needs to be solidified. Nutsack will be back but who knows how that will go. Really need a couple of high velocity guys back in my opinion.

Daysbel Hernandez can be a top three reliever for the Braves. Get Dylan Lee back and the pen starts taking shape.

Braves probably will need to come up with two starters.

Can Grissom become an everyday SS? OF?

The value of Grissom’s bat is tied to his ability to play Short on a daily basis. If they have given up any hope of that, then he is essentially a bat-first utility guy who would be borderline as a regular in LF or DH.

At that point, I think you’re better off moving him in a deal for pitching help….

Considering the Braves are not “free spenders”, it’s tough to imagine allocating $20 million a year to a fourth starter who you don’t see helping you in the playoffs.

On the other hand, considering that most of the other options on the table will want a multi-year commitment, maybe it’s a compromise they make again.

Would rather spend money on pitching than worrying about replacing Arcia. Dude has a solid glove and is a good 8 hole hitter.
