If ONLY we had the means to drill & produce our OWN oil. Or even had some measure of oil supplies in reserve....

Hmmm.

* and screw you who down voted the truth. Chickens are coming home to roost.

and this is why you don't make giant deals as companies with middle eastern places like Qatar...

Wonder what Shell and Exxon are thinking about.

Might bump places like Driftwood (Tellurian)

Seems like at one time that reserve was supposed to help the US in the event of oil shutdowns by OPEC. Somehow it became a tool of the ruling party to slow retail gasoline prices during election years.

Not an expert, but I'm sure he thinks it means that the US doesn't have to import any oil. It's amazing to me that so many people do not understand how that actually works.

It makes my brain hurt every time these chodes trot out EnErgY IndEpEndEnCe.

Not sure they can just stop everything without some consideration going to the people that they contracted with for future deliveries.

They dont just put all that natty gas on the open market every morning.

Lots of legal issues to wade through.

Probably just red meat for the locals.

Not sure about that, but last week this made news:

The Biden administration has introduced a new proposed five-year plan for offshore oil and gas leasing, and it will not include any sales in 2024 and will feature just three in the final four years.

New US five-year plan calls for ‘fewest oil and gas lease sales in history’

The Biden administration has the Federal agencies doing everything they can do to hinder the domestic oil and gas industry. People pointing to production being up don’t understand basic economics. Of course production is higher than when crude went negative in price. It’s in spite of EPA, Interior, the Corps, and others stalling and rejecting permits.

How long can that last?

frick them. They need to sell their oil. What else do they have. I’ll pay $5 a gallon if I see constant vids of the Muslims that did this being slaughtered by Jews.

On pace for record oil production this year, but democrats!

If this is true, why isn't gas dropping and why did they release oil from the SPR?

We trade oil on a global market and with differing mixes it’s not a simple start up the rigs.. we are drilling at all time rates but we could be drilling better types and ramping up infrastructure to be even more competitive,..

The bigger issues are financing at the small and mid market companies and the regulatory environment crushing infrastructure

Knowing you a bit, I suppose you're taking the piss. Cause there is almost no SPR left.

But, the Indians and the Chinese will buy Qatari oil, and we'll (used loosely, because it would probably be a Dutch company to who send it to us to be refined, etc.) buy oil from someone else.

Sure would be nice to use our own... Doesn't anyone else remember the left shitting on GWB for Hydrogen cars?
