In October 2016, deep-field images from the Hubble Space Telescope suggested that there are about 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe, or about 10 times more galaxies than previously suggested, according to the journal Nature. In an email with Live Science, lead author Christopher Conselice, a professor of astrophysics at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, said there were about 100 million stars in the average galaxy

So there are approximately 200,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the observable universe.

The odds that none of those stars supports planets having intelligible life forms is virtually zero.

Humans are incapable of contacting aliens, so all we can do is wait for them to run out of gas near Earth

Life is out there

But the universe is too vast for us to find each other

Primitive life is an absolute certainty.

Life advanced enough to put anything into orbit is rare and nearly non-existent at any given point in time. google "The Great Filter" to find out why.

The universe is violent and inhospitable. Earth is definitely an exception, but I doubt if we are the only exception.

Alien life 100% exists. The question is how intelligent is alien life.

And we're beginning to live out the great filter in real time.

I'm not a believer in "The Great Filter"

Maybe it just isn't possible to travel at even close to the speed of light, so we haven't found each other.

And mathematically extremely unlikely they would ever find us or make it here.

Mathematical Certainty

Show your math.

Actually don’t bother. Your logic is awful. We don’t have the information required to even begin that calculation.

Maybe a few flew by earth, looked down, and said “we’re not wasting time on these dumbasses”.

Prove it if it's a certainty. Show your work.

Prove it if it's a certainty

i mean based on the fact that we exist it is pretty much a certainty. the odds that we are so rare that out of that many stars we are the only ones to exist are astronomical.
