YES, it was the right move. He had to go, or else it would send a message to the players and recruits that he could be walked all over, and/or if you're a big talent you can get away with whatever you like and the Coach's rhetoric is hollow.

Yes it was the right move and I am ok with the consequences of the decision. Maybe some others needed to go also.

You don't decide the correctness of removing a player by the anticipated effect it will have on your season.
Yes, I realize this is "idealist" but I refuse to say that just cause we ended up really needing him, that removing him was a bad idea.
If the coach felt he needed to be removed, I'm kind of glad he didn't use the player's necessity to affect that choice.

No. It gave Miles a convenient excuse for having 5 horrible losses and several close calls against teams from the Sunbelt.
Besides that- this is football not Sunday school. From what was made public there was no reason to dismiss him for trivial infractions like entering a casino underage and fighting at a nightclub.

Thank you Larry Coker.

Kudos to the man that makes that call... that takes some serious character.
Gotta believe the feeling was if we can win with flynn,,,,we can win with anyone.

What if Perrilloux plays himself into the the 2nd or 3rd round of the nfl draft and Les Miles get fired for another subpar year. Then will it be worth it???

Long term yes
Short term it hurt pretty badly I think... assuming RP would have stayed eligible most of this year anyway

Yes and Yes. I don't like the consequences, but you can't have your cake and eat it two.

we should have suffered through him for 1 season IMHO.
If nothing else our program wouldn't have the stench of decline smeared all over it like it does now.
Seriously, how many coaches (long term) survive a drop like this at their school? Less than 50% for sure.

Well, there's always that awful stench of "eau de Holding Cell"-- don't care to have that around the program, either...

So sacrifice everything for the sake of winning? Got it...

Urban Meyer last year, 9-4.

Yes, and it should've happened earlier than it did, as it has helped erode team discipline this year.
I sat with a friend at a hotel restraunt last year, we sat next to Matt Flynn's parents and some Bama fans, and we all shook our heads at how much stuff he had done, and had been swept under the rug, and I told them all "that if it weren't for trying to win a championship and needing a backup, that the hypocrisy that LM was forced to tolerate, wouldn't be acceptable, and that it has to have effects with others, as they see RP living by the 'The Jordan Rules.'" Matt Flynn's father being a former QB and Coach, nodded, as he well knew those truths to greater levels than I ever have.
It's not like LM hadn't sent Giddens, Thomas, Anderson,etc..packing..for far fewer instances..albeit criminal and greater in nature.
Part of the RP legacy and price that is being paid this year for such hypocrisy to win hardware last year, was understandable for football factories, and yet still it lays more at the gentle hands of LM than a player long gone already..
Ownership..it starts at the top!
