And BRPD needs to be disbanded and allow the Sheriff’s Department to cover the whole parish including inside the city limits.

While there are multiple reasons this should happen and from a financial standpoint it is unquestionably the correct move, we will never see a "metro" department like Las Vegas, Nashville, etc. because the mayor cannot control the Sheriff.

Imagine if EBRSO killed Alton Sterling, it doesn't matter what Broome wants, it would've been the Sheriff's call as to whether or not to fire/discipline Salamoni and Lake. For that reason alone we will never see consolidation.

BOTH need to be shown the door. ASAP!

This alone should show the voting public (the Ilk that installed her in office) she is incapable of making sound decisions for the betterment of Baton Rouge.

WBRZ has the names of the officers and their charges but has made an editorial decision not to identify them at this time as the investigation continues

But the WBRZ news link in the OP names the officers with pics.

3 of the 4 are black officers...

What a disappointment it must be for the broome administration not to be able to use the race card.

I mean, if shows like The Shield and The Wire are accurate, which I have no reason to doubt their accuracy, Street Crime Units and others like it are known for being rife with corruption.

Talking about shootings, look at their shooting of Travis Stevenson that happened the same year as Alton Sterling and how that was treated compared to Sterling

Hell, the sheriff doesn’t even send a representative to the council meetings when requested to answer questions about the number of pursuits their deputies get into that result in injuries. Sheriff basically tells them to get fricked

No way the council and mayor agree to a merger without having any input or oversight into that new agency and no way does the sheriff agree to having to answer to anyone.

It will never happen

Oh I'm pretty sure they are still trying to use it. The narrative is that the white council members wouldn't give Paul $$ for legal representation for firing people.

I saw the press conference. Do they really believe that people believe Murphey never heard of the Brave Cave until it was reported or at the same time the public heard about it or whatever bullshite they are saying?

They believe it but anyone with half a brain knows they are lying through their teeth.

If MP is really that incompetent, he doesn’t need to be the chief anyway. If he knew about it and did nothing, he is as liable as the officers that are being investigated since it’s under his watch

MP went out of his way to fire the union president who was having cancer treatment because guy made MP look stupid. Granted, MP didn’t need the help…

He fired this guy, who was white by the way, for putting up a billboard and giving an interview.

But the cop Lawrence Jr that cursed out a civilian woman in an auto accident and yanked her out of the car, that cost the taxpayers 50k, and had numerous other complaints, was not fired. Not until the brave cave stuff came out.

Also the other cop that was his frat brother bribed a female and let her out of a dwi for sex was also not fired until a year later. Was able to draw a years salary on the taxpayers dime.

And there are many other examples of this one sided punishment. And he’s crying to the media he needs more money for attorneys to defend his suspensions?

MP is a lying POS.

Go look at profile pictures from comments on social media. Black people are 99% supporting Murphy Paul because he’s fighting the white man while simultaneously ignoring how badly treated and protected their “community” is under his watch. They care about nothing but revenge. Someone needs to inject some self esteem and self worth into NBR. I’ve never seen a group of people who hate themselves so much.

Part of the problem with NBR is that the unsilent minority loves MP because he doesn’t enforce shite and the silent majority up there keeps their heads down because MP and SWB can’t keep ANYTHING confidential.

We know she exposed who was on the BRPD payroll for tips via an unredacted report. How many tipsters or witnesses either changed their stories or died because these people couldn’t or wouldn’t keep things confidential?

In BRPD’s case, it was probably because they were recruiting street criminals onto the unit rather than having normal cops who became corrupt.

So let me get this straight, I've read and heard all the reports and this is what I've surmised. Street crimes officers get accused of torturing criminals in a secret warehouse yet this has zero effect on the local residents who continue to wildout. Due to recent accusations, an unknown officer comes forward with alleged evidence in exchange for no criminal charges and to be moved into a specialized division (bribery but calling it whistleblowing). The evidence however was deleted therefore there is no evidence of the so called tazing of a man in custody. Yes, this administration is incompetent but all this crap is not necessarily an indictment on the officers. Now the worthless DA gets to come out and clear his office of doing their job by saying "oh no now all these cases are jeopardized." Yall have fallen into thei trap while the criminals of North Baton Rouge are being released from jail and just awaiting the payday the city council is going to give them. Reparations baby!!!!
