I know the two anchors will no longer be doing the broadcast. But idk about completely ending it. That would be ludicrous

Yeah I saw that there’s definitely something going on when one of your morning anchors and both evening anchors resign. The article states they would do prerecorded broadcasts of news which sounds silly

Expect to see more of this when it comes to traditional media. No one is listening or paying attention. And the media outlets themselves have been the last to realize it. Advertisers know.

They did this to themselves by alienating over 50% of their viewing audience by airing national left-wing media narratives. Local news should focus on local issues and stay out of the national politics of the day.

Maybe they just need bustier anchors?

If this becomes a trend Chicken needs to get in on the ground level and launch TD/OT weather coverage.

I'll put together a proposal and run it by Rummy.

Make a poor product then act surprised when people stop buying. Media is in spiral downward - expect more of this.

So are you saying news stations are going to be a thing of the past soon?

That would require them to actually do things like go to city council meetings, investigate local issues, and do hard things like investigative reporting.

It's certainly possible, they are owned by Scripps which has a history of gutting local stations.

They cover weather, traffic, and local sports which is all people care about for local news.

Are things really that bad in Lafayette that they can’t support a TV station?
