Honestly it's embarrassing for our fans to constantly bad mouth the guy. Criticism is fair, but this goes way beyond that. At the stadium yesterday and I hear supposed fans boo JD in the second quarter when he threw a low pass and yell "you suck!" The ones doing this make us look like idiots. There's a handful of QBs in the country that are performing better than JD. Nationally he is respected as one of the better QBs. And we have dumbass fans that would rather play someone else. End rant.

So he wasn’t bad against FSU and for almost the entire first half against Arkansas?

Daniels has been good this year. Great at times.

He struggled first half yesterday. Every good qb has games where things are just off.

Credit playcalling for shifting to a lot more Diggs to open up the passing a bit.

Daniels adjusted well and was one of the reasons we won.

He got off to a slow start in the game but he ultimately won the game
This team is so much better offensively in year 2 with daniels
He’s come a long ways since early last season
I’m glad he’s lsu qb1

Well said. I don’t understand why people hate on him so much. Our team would be in a so much worse place if we did not have that man. He’s earned the respect, we need to give it to him.

I don’t ever pull that crap so I understand your sentiment, but if you were at the game I can tell you on tv he made some awful misses in the 1st half.

I see less and less people disrespecting him. Quite the opposite. Fans are fans. He started off crappy yesterday, but then played excellent the rest of the game. The QB position is the most criticized because they are the focal point of the offense. In the first half, the criticism was warranted. In the 2nd half, the praise was warranted. That's just the way it is.

I think the fans are expecting even more from him as a 5th year starting QB. LSU fans are still having Joe Burrow thoughts in their head.

This narrative is getting ridiculous. He was off the first half, throwing at the feet of Nabers multiple times including one where it looked like he seriously injured his shoulder and threw a pick on a bad read. He deserved the criticism.

The second half he was damn near perfect and he was praised for it. It was an outstanding 2nd half.
Most of us just want him to be consistently good, not perfect.

Nature of the QB position. You will get criticized.

Really? I’ve been told here for a year now that only lunatics on TD say things like this about JD.

But, now, you’re telling us that fans at the game are frustrated by his throwing, too?

Nationally he’s respected…..but…..I’ve heard several on-air analysts this morning say LSU got off to a “slow start” …. Which is a nice way to put it.

Maybe your assessment of JD is not the consensus view of his performance?

Honestly, LSU is not very good on both sides of the ball. The Tigers are marginally better on offense because of Daniels. LSU just doesn’t have enough quality players to be anything other than a mediocre to good team. They may beat Ole Miss and Auburn, but will struggle against Alabama, Florida and Texas A&am.

Well was he sucking at the time?

In all seriousness, JD has shown to be inconsistent throughout his career. When he plays bad I am going to criticize him, when he plays well I am going to give him credit. Just like I will when Maason Smith is getting shoved around or BTJ when he drops a pass.

Much of the JD criticism is from trolls. Other SEC fans dressed up like Tiger fans. Their whole purpose here is to cause chaos, arguments and division amongst the fan base. (A large majority of the trolls on here are Bama & Aggots, IMO).

A very small amount of the criticism is from racist assholes, who always pull for the white QB, when there is a choice. Of course there are also some black racists, who conversely always pull for the black qb over the white guy as well. This is in every fan base, and does not seem to be as rampant as the trolls.

I don’t think that the majority of JD bashing comes from true Tiger fans. People need to just ignore the haters and not respond to every troll attempt. If we could actually do that, most will go away.

BTW, JD & the Offense went Punt, Int, Punt on the first 3 possesions. Then they went FG, TD, TD, TD, TD, FG to end the game. They almost certainly would have scored a TD on the final drive, but due to circumstances, the game winning FG was the way to go. All four TD drives went 75 yards. The two FG drives were 65+.

First half he looked like he was in the bottom 3 of the conference so I could see some criticism. Second half he was amazing, results matter in almost every job. With our current defense we need second half Daniels if we want to win the west.

Jayden Daniel’s is a very good quarterback and he’s made noticeable improvement from a year ago.

On top of that, he seems like a very good person and teammate. Represents himself and his team with no apparent attitude or behavior problems.

Best thing that came out of last night is that JD had a horrific start, but then came back and really turned it on late 2nd and all 2nd half. Usually, if he doesn't get a good start, he gets flustered/panicked and sucks the whole game. That's huge progress.

I’ve seen 4 overthrown deep balls in nfl games in the first quarter as of 12:30.

I guess all those QB are trash too bc they aren’t 100% on deep balls.
