I wish modern companies would stop trying to kill physical media. Not having a disk drive is so stupid.

This. There are certain games like Doom and anything Fromsoft where I want that physical media.

I can't even remember the last disc of anything that I bought and that goes back a few consoles i'd wager

Agreed. I won't buy a system without a disc drive.

There's so many reasons digital only should be panned by everyone. People just turn a blind eye because of "muh convenience."

Not having to produce physical disks makes the games cheaper to produce? This means less Microtransactions and cheaper games right? Nope

Licensing fees for cars, music, etc about to run out? Game is removed from digital storefronts, preventing players from ever purchasing it again. There are also examples of content that people have already purchased being removed from their digital libraries.

The end stage is to treat everything like a service where you have to pay a monthly fee to access content. Disney already does this with the vast majority of their Disney+ shows.
