If you haven't already you can sign up for their emails and get 10$ off and if you have Rakuten web extension you can get 2% cash back. Not much but still cheaper.

Are these known as good rods for reds and trout? I know the legend series are good but what about these?

I can’t speak to the components but the SCIII blank is great. One thing to consider is ST Croix blanks run about a half power up (SC Medium might feel closer to a daiwa MH). That’s at least my experience with them
Regardless, that’s a great rod for that price

I really, really like them. I use a 7' ML for reds and trout unless I'm around docks, then I use a 6.5' MF.

In my experience St Croix is always a safe purchase for the US models, but they've had some QC issues with some of the Mexican lines lately. I have a couple of Mexican rods that have been great, but they're not afraid to post negative reviews on their website and certain models have more than their share of them.

I fish with a guy who has snapped two st Croix poles in last two years dealing with big catfish that my Coastal rod handled fine. But he did put too much pressure on the top 1/3 of pole in my opinion. But he had the lifetime warranty.

Was it the Mojo Line? I replaced all my rods with the new Mojos when they came out then started seeing the issues pop up of them snapping easy. I did have one snap when handling it that they replaced. When I read the serial number off the rod they guy made it seem like that was a bad batch and he had seen that number a lot. I haven't had any other issues since but haven't landed a ton on them yet either.

Are there any offers for casting rods for sea fishing?

That was the line I saw all the negatives on; I think it was the Mojo Inshore. They put "Mojo" on several different lines and I've never seen a rash of complaints on all of them, just the latest iteration they built for inshore. They obviously got a bad batch of blanks.

My second favorite after the Avid is their Mojo Yak (same blank), because it's got a nice short handle. I usually have to cut down the handle on spinning rods for kayak use.
