They should enforce the rule by only allowing the player acquired in the LTIR to play of the player that was LTIR is actually unavailable for the playoffs. That's the intent of the rule. Not to stack a team artificially three years in a row for having the same player be on LTIR to end the regular season and miraculously be healed at the start of the playoffs.

Hell yes! Let's go Canes! They needed another goal scorer badly. And now that Freddie is back, hopefully, that adds some stability to their shaky goaltending all season.

Here is how I see it, Stats:

Drouin. McKinnon Rantanen
Lehkonen Mittlestadt Nichushkin
Wood Colton O'Connor
Parise Trenin Duhaime

Cogliano, Kivantra, Wagner etc. are also options. I like Cogs a lot and hate to see him get the healthy scratch. If Kovalenko shows up that's another bottom six scoring option.

Girard Manson
Johnson Walker

That's three D lines that can push the puck at an elite level..3 or 4 guys can fill in for Johnson who definitely is not elite..

The first line is unstoppable.
The second line has a great mixture of checking, in front of the net, skill, scoring touch.
The third line, playing another third line is going to be trouble.
And that 4th line is now savage, experienced, tough as hell and has tremendous skill for a 4th line.

Swap Lehkonen and Drouin if you want to be more dominant and that's fine. I just think the first line is arguably the best in hockey regardless. And I like the idea of having the best two checking forwards on the line with Mittlestadt. Those bottom two lines are pesky, skilled and tough.

The penalty kill got better.
Goalies? With all that talent in front of them, no excuses.

This is going to be fun.

Andrew Peeke to the Bruins for Zboril and a 3rd rounder. And didn't retain any salary.

Jack Roslovic to the Rangers for a 4th round conditional.

The Avs undoubtedly are better today than they were before the flurry of trades. The only thing is, by most beat reports, is that the Avs were still trying to wheel and deal for a G.

It’ll be interesting for sure. My biggest hope is that Walker gives Makar a break on the PK a bit (Bednar said that was the plan) so that 8 can get back to the elite D play we’ve grown used to seeing him at with a break on his minutes. Coming off the hatty, this couldn’t have been timed any better.
