this check found one almost dead on the side of the road and nursed it back to health. she's also got a pet rottweiler and they play together. probably not the US... maybe the US?

They are probably all grey by now, or dead.

I swear I saw a dead black panther on side of I-10 somewhere between the Blind River bridge and the Sorrento exit.

If I had to guess that’s some sort of cat with spots that’s melanistic.

I’ve seen one near the pearl river on the north shore, or something that looking very similar.

There are some black jaguars in Mexico and Central America. So what's your point?

Isn’t it just a jaguar or leopard with more melanin?
The black panther sightings are just mistaken identity.

Only jaguars have the black pigment gene. Not a panther which is a separate species.

I had one run in front of my car in north Louisiana. It was about 100 ft in distance. First thought was the experts said there were no black panthers in north America. Yeah, right.

Yep she’s a black cougar alright….
That is not a leopard or a Jaguar.
It’s a cougar.
Both of them.

I've got a black house cat that thinks she's a panther.

What could go wrong

Your grammar sucks.
That is a jaguar. They can be black. Cougars, mountain lions, pumas, etc cannot be black. The above mentioned cats, minus jaguar, are the same animal.

It’s bullshite likely jags from Mexico or mixes. Camera footage comes in on them every year.

We've had'em around here (SC) since I was a kid in the 50s and 60s.
Damn near ran over one in my VW bug in 69 crossing the Saluda hwy near the Travis memorial ... he was chasing a buck out into a cornfield.
My grandpappy killed one, although she was more brownish mix, in 58. Shot her out of a pecan tree with his 1911.
Occasionally they'll show up on modern deer and trail cams around here.

That's probably a jaguar. Black panthers are like Bigfoot. They don't exist.
Every other person in Mississippi has either seen one or has a crack head uncle who has seen one. No evidence or specimen has been produced.
