Hairspray works almost as well. It sticks their wings together and they just drop

Why go through all that trouble, hit'em with soapy water (like Dawn) and they'll all be dead in seconds. Works with any insect that flys.

Fun fact for the day:
There is a legit market for hornet nests on Ebay. Some of them bring several hundred dollars. Less the hornets, of course.

How much do you trust that person on eBay?

I can’t even imagine being in the scenario where I’d willingly open a box that I knew contained a giant hornets nest
