Root Cause #1: when they went to 12 and 21 personnel and got big in late 3rd quarter, we stayed nickel and small. So they run it down our throat. This exhausted our defense and opened up the pass game. Shoudve put Penn to match up and taken out one of the DBs. They did it late in the 4th.

Root Cause #2: Dropped passes during crucial drives in the second half. So we could not keep up with the shootout. Lacey needed to get benched for the second half just like Sage Ryan was benched for missing tackles in the first half.

Similarly, these are the reasons we lost the A&M game last year...stiff in game coaching.

That’s some damn good points.

House and the receivers had way more to do with that loss than anything either quarterback did.

But Jayden isn’t flashy enough so he’s hated. He’s not a great quarterback but he is a good one and he played well enough for us to win. He had very little help around him.

The root causes you mentioned are entirely coaches’ faults, so no way am I watching that disaster again. It’s ALWAYS coaching.

I feel the Daniels groupies filtering back in. By the Mississippi State game they are going to bragging about how much progress he has made.

sure there was just one problem on offense. not being able to pass beyond 6 yards is perfectly fine too

FSU had more drops than lsu. Difference was Travis opens up the field with his arm. JD plays hero ball without the results. Time to see what nuss can do.

I just disagree with this. FSU had more drops than us and I think our inability to get them off the field on 3rd downs was what killed us (plus their receivers outclassed our DBs).

Not being able to run the football and control the clock also hurt

Sooo we’re gonna ignore the fact that on the first drive of the game they couldn’t punch it in the end zone from the 2 in 6 plays? After that the writing was on the wall.

The LSU offense sucks right now. They have zero physicality on the line or from the backs. Receivers are unreliable. The QB is scared to throw past the chains. They also are led by an OC who seems to not use the talent available to him, and prefers to pigeon hole an athlete playing quarterback into a pocket passer role even after a year of him not being that type. The defense was bad against FSU, no doubt. But, the offense with LSUs talent should at least have been able to score with FSU.

Root cause #3 is we got pushed around on the lines like they were playing against middle schoolers

Last year and transfer out.

Coaching lost us FSU. Very expensive coaching.

Eh, little more complex than that (talking about #1)

FSU lives off the counter, they run tons of plays off that general scheme. They tried to run it all first half and Wingo (being the beast that he is with an incredible first step) was shooting the gaps and neutralizing that for the most part.

FSU went to locker room, and said okay let’s adjust, they switched to a two back look which allowed for another down blocker to commit to Wingo and we did not adjust for that. Had he, the run would’ve been much more of a non favor, could’ve committed more to coverage. My point really isn’t that we went light (nickel) it’s we got out schemed.

House should’ve picked on all that, he did not. At least not quickly enough. The good news is we get Smith back and it’s going to make a huge difference.

Nope. Everything was because Nuss wasn’t playing. If he had started, we’d have won 160 to 0. He would have thrown for 7000 yards and 999 touchdowns. The last touchdown would have come from him sacking their QB causing a fumble that he Nuss picked up and ran in it himself.
