Yeah posters around here don’t understand this they think JD throwing off his back foot 10 yards down the field and running every chance he gets is the only way for us

It’s called dumbing down the fan base.

I would start Nuss against MSU to send message to JD maybe he would wake up and throw the ball downfield like we were promised

So the premise of your whole theory is CBK would rather lose games and lose recruits just so he can attempt to be right on a transfer?? .. doesn't make sense, but what does it JD probably out performs Nuss in practice

Just like Lacy catches balls in practice. I bet JD beat the Florida State scout team in practice.

If Kelly wanted Nussmeier to be starting, Nussmeier would be starting.

Daniels is here and starting because he gives you the best opportunity week in and out to win . Without a running game Daniels is your starter.

You don't think coaches can be stubborn? And not want to change their systems

Their systems? Probably, because that's what got them where they are.

Player vs Player? frick no. Its a multi-million dollar business run by coaches with twenty plus years of experience. You think they give a shite about "their portal guy" over another kid if they truly believe the other kid is better? They are MUCH more likely to be making an evaluation mistake than a conscious decision to play the lesser player out of stubbornness.

How about the fact that he’s much more experienced and turns the ball over MUCH less

More than likely, these decisions come after committee meetings with the other coaches

I can guarantee LSU’s football program isn’t being run like your shitty corporate standup meetings where everyone gets to speak because it makes them feel special

I'm guessing some of you guys don't understand how long these routes take to open up. The short routes are, indeed, playing to JDs strengths. The longer routes when open, pressure is more than likely already in his face. I have no problem with trucking and running as long as it positive yards. Name of the game is move the sticks. We know he can't throw his WRs open, so just manage the game. Make the easy throws, get the ball out quick. The rest is on the OC to call a good game plan. Get your playmakers in open space. We'll be OK. Yall calm down.

He was convinced to come here by BK and BK has a lot riding on him being successful? It’s hard to imagine that there is that much separation between the two QB’s. Nothing about JD’s history screams successful QB. Nuss wasn’t BK’s recruit. The fact that BK doesn’t even go to Nuss in obvious situations makes me think it’s a pride thing with him. Just like the 4th quarter in the FSU game where you had to revert to passing down the field, something Nuss is obviously better at, and he doesn’t even get the opportunity. JD continues to play the way he has always played. His style makes a defending team easy to game plan against him. You can basically remove the middle of the field, past 15 yards, he will never throw there. That then allows your LB’s, who routinely cover the middle, to key more on the run game. I am not sure if I can ever recall him throwing a deep square in route at any time, even last year. He continues to be inaccurate with his throws too. I feel like Nuss deserves a start and if he does well, you stick with him. You then use JD in special situations where you can use his running ability or design a play much like the first play of the game.

I agree 100%. Don’t care what others say. He has Les Miles type pride. Daniels is his guy come hell or high water. Don’t matter if Nuss is more qualified for the job. Pride is a dangerous thing

Yea, unless it’s the other team passing, their routes seem to open up nicely.

Kelly thinks Daniels gives him a better chance to win. You can disagree with him on that, but it's that simple.

Agree. And I would add that (DT QB) is the kind of game CBK prefers and is most comfortable with.

So much so that:
1) In CBK's world, JD would beat out Burrow because he has better wheels and that would best compensate for a mediocre OL.
2) Our offensive scheme is tailor-made for JD's skill-set.
3) Would be surprised if Nuss takes a meaningful snap this year as long as JD is healthy.
4) If there's a DT QB on the market for '24 who's proven himself already, well, sorry Nuss but CBK will roll with the DT QB over Nuss,

Don't mean to sound critical of CBK or JD. It may work. JD's A-game is a tough out for an opponent. Out staff needs to figure out a way to get him on track when he's struggling.

We have enough talent with JD at QB to win every game and even a rematch with FSU.

Correct. His. Passing past 15 yards very flat Not close to the receiver. Routine back shoulder throws do not exist

BK knows he has a 10 year contract. He’s going to ride JD this year and try again next.
