No. Jaba the Hut can blink.

Stating the obvious, when a team wants to compete for a national championship, there’s no time for a player to learn a new position.

I'm a big Nuss supporter but people said this exact same stuff about Jarrett Lee
Jarett Lee had the highest quarterback rating in the entire SEC when he was pulled at Bama for JJ. He never took another relevant snap the rest of the season

He is Les 2.0. Others will try to argue because he doesn’t have an archaic running game but he coaches the same and is clearly at this point out of his league. The only difference is Les could recruit and obviously won a championship
Our passing game is also 10x better than it was under Miles from 2008-2016

To neuter Perkins ability is criminal.
It’s roughly akin to trying to make Shaq a 2-guard.

Come hell or high water this team is not going to push the ball down the field. He's riding with his qb to the point we had Howard transfer to be in the same position at a lesser school.
That's what is so bizarre to me. He left LSU not because he wanted to start, but because he didn't want to be 3rd string. I believe he is 3rd string there as well. Makes no sense and I still regret we lost him. Time will truly tell.

Does Brian Kelly kind of look like Jaba The Hut during games? Is it just me?
Too much red wine and pasta at Gino’s .

The issue was that he seemed totally lost.
He looked slow. That were a lot of plays where he was in pursuit and simply got smoked. That elite closing speed we saw last year was not in evidence against FL ST. How much weight did he put on to move inside? I hope it's fixable but it's more than a failure to use him optimally. He was stuck in first gear the whole game.

Harris and Welch need to play.
Heard it straight from one of the LSU WR's mouth that Harris was the best cover corner LSU had. Dude needs to play. I realize Kelly is trying to teach him life lessons but unless he is really fricking off he needs to play.

V Miller was 6'3" 240 when he was drafted. He ran a 4.49 at the combine. He pushes 6'3" and 250 now.
HP as a soph is 6'1 or 2" 220 (site dependent when you look at our roster). He can push those V Miller college numbers, is probably just as fast (if not faster), and produce similar college numbers....at OLB/DE.

Perkins is the closest thing to the Honey Badger (albeit a bit bigger) that you can have. They are a special breed. You let them wreak havoc. Adjust your defense around him not the other way around. So disappointing.

Speights? Meh. What did he do?
He is no worse than Baskerville. So with Speights and Penn you look like last year at ILB, with HP back at OLB/Jack. We have the personnel to do this effectively. Our DT rotation with Smith/Wingo/Jefferson/Guillory is better than last year. Swinson & S. Jones can hold down the DE position.
Rushing Swinson, Jones, Wingo and Perkins will get pressure with four leaving more bodies to cover. Bring an occasional blitz with them and you really give a team problems.

If my memory serves me correctly Jarrett Lee went undefeated while Jefferson served his suspension. As soon as Jefferson came back Miles benched Lee and we all know what happened next

He needs to play outside linebacker or rush end, not what the staff is attempting currently
Posted on 9/5/23 at 11:32 am to LSBoosie
I bet he goes to the portal at the end of the year if Kelly makes him stay at the new position. He was much better before.

Was Devin White always a great LB or did he getting bigger and experienced during his time at LSU? A guy coming in a disrupting is exciting and shows athleticism but for Perkins to go top 5 he has to be where they have him now
