Soil prep for sod

Still waiting on a soil test result but plan to remove existing grass and lay new sod. Current soil is pretty sandy/loamy,

what material should I be looking for to put down under my new Bermuda sod? Topsoil? Compost? Sand? I’ve heard to avoid river silt/sand due to weeds

If your soil is sandy loam then just drop the bermuda right on top of it.

I just put down a couple pallets of st augustine.Ended spreading Black Kow compost/topsoil...Grass is looking good.Watering 2 times a day.

Bermuda grows on anything that is permeable, and some things that are not. Lay it, and water. Don’t over complicate things.
