Now my two year old lab/Aussie pup better hope he doesn’t have to answer for some of his decisions at the pearly gates

I hate reading these threads. But I'll open them every time. I got a 14 year old aussie that is in relatively good health but she's losing her hearing and she's starting to lose some vision. I've had to put one dog down in the last couple of years. Was my first and only one to put down so far but my Aussie is getting closer. Just hope to get a couple more good years from her.

That Sturgill Simpson song is good posted above.

Ditto my friend. Did this a year ago. Now I’m one of those people I used to make fun of. My dog is the best.

Sorry for your loss man. I'm dreading this day. Found out 5 weeks ago my 10 year old chocolate lab has cancer. But shes a fighter. We wouldnt know she had it, if we didnt bring her for a routine checkup. She shows no signs of slowing down or appetite loss etc.

Long story short, luckily my company has been letting me bring her to my office everyday and its been the best 5 weeks having her here with me. The meds shes on are working for now but i'm gonna make she she knows shes loved every minute until her end.

14 1/2 years for a dog that size is incredible. Obviously Chip was well loved and care for.

Sorry for your loss. It's really tough, but be comforted by the fact that your were a terrific dog parent to Chip and he knew it.

RIP Chip. Our little bulldog can be a real punk sometimes but he’s always forgiven and loves people and strangers. I don’t think about how my wife is going to handle that one day.

My parents have 5 pets’ ashes and they always say they’re not getting another one after each loss. Of course they currently have 2 dogs. Just can’t live without them.

Sorry for your loss.

We took in a retired hunting dog a couple years ago and he's getting pretty old now. Not sure of his actual age, but he's deaf now and can't jump in or out of the bed anymore.

I've never had to have a dog put down but I'm sure it won't be too long for him. We took him to the woods a month ago and he got hot and had a seizure. I was kind of hoping he would have passed away out there and we could bury him out there doing what he loved to do.
