Has Nelson ever held a job outside of politics?

I wouldn't call an engineering officer in the State Department a politics job? Sounds like an engineer that would like to go see the world to me. Was Landry in politics because the government pays for the national guard?

Richard seems to me to be the first Republican in a long time that will actually be fiscally responsible and reduce waste and spending at the state level. He led the charge to pay a huge chunk of pension debt in the last budget, and passed the amendment to constitutionally obligate larger payments than what's currently required.

What efforts did he make to repeal John Bel’s sales tax increase? Must have missed the bills he authored to repeal the increase given the State’s budget surpluses the past 2 years. His record in the legislature is that of a back bencher. There’s zero evidence that he has the chops to reform fundamentally the State’s flawed government.

I also don’t think he’s a strong leader who will push back aggressively against the RINOs and Democrats. In other words, Jindal 2.0.
