I was being wheeled into the operating room by the equipment nurse and then the next thing you know the GI doc and anesthesiologist are in the room. Anesthesiologist pulls out a syringe full of the milk of amnesia, infuses it into my IV, asks me to count from ten, and then everything goes black and 1 second later I wake up in the post-op room.

It felt like I was reborn. When I woke up I felt high as a kite and couldn’t stop laughing because of how good it felt. No wonder why so many celebrities use this drug recreationally. I’m surprised how it hasn’t been added to the controlled substance list.

The high it gives you when you wake up is just as strong as an opioid, if not stronger. You feel like gravity is weighing down on you by a million pounds. Highly recommend over twilight sedation

That's scary stuff IMO. My worst fear would be to have an episode of sleep apnea while under and fail to wake up.

sounds like you have a system with very low tolerance, which may or may not be a bad thing

It’s a weird drug. Oddest thing is they say you aren’t truly asleep.

Can confirm.
I see why MJ was hooked on it.

It’s great stuff. Your arm goes cold and it’s night night time.
Told the tech “don’t give me the dosage Michael Jackson’s doc gave him”

I had one a month ago, and I remember saying to the anesthesiologist, “Man, that’s some good stuff!”
I had about 20 secs of a great high, then I woke up, only 15 mins later.

It knocked me out but I didn't get any high feeling when I woke up. Just kind of an out of it feeling like half awake half asleep for a bit.

Hate the feeling of waking up after anesthesia. After two surgeries and two TEE's I hope I don't see another vial of propofol for the rest of my life.

I've had two Colonoscopies in the last 18 months and both times I was sedated with Propofol. Both times when I woke I was having a pleasant dream that felt like real life.

The first time I was walking shoulder to shoulder with my Dad (been deceased for 35 years) across a huge square walking toward a huge building. From pictures I have seen it was kind of like St Peter's Square.

The second time I was sitting on the grass and was playing with my dog.

This doesn't happen to me. I wake up pretty clear headed. It's the 2 seconds during induction that I feel it.

I wish I had time to post my experience of being sedated nine days with a propofol / fyntanal drip.
