I wouldn't say that Lafayette is the best place in the country (by far), but in general it's not a bad place to live and raise a family if you want to stay in the Southern US.

One thing about a booming city like Mandeville, is that it has alot of rich residents. QX 80 in every driveway. All members of Franco’s .

This attracts excellent Medical services.
And they also keep good tradesmen busy.

This. With the exception of traffic Lafayette is a great place. IMO, for bigger town/cities it’s definitely the best La. has to offer.
